The sun god, Inti was extremely important to the Inca people. They believed that Inti arose from Lake Titicaca. He was so bright that there nothing else was visible in the sky. He created the moon, the stars, and the planets. The moon was called Mama Kilya and he married her. Together they ruled heaven and Earth.
