When I first decided I wanted to design jewellery it was priority to discover manufactures that would handcraft my designs in small batches. Not only was this a financially sustainable option but having a young family to support the decision was easy to look for partnerships with people I could call ‘family’ rather than large manufactures in which you are just a number, unsustainable and unethical practices.

I wanted to be able to walk into a workspace and give big love and hugs to the beautifully talented artisans mindfully handcrafting each pieces and have comfort knowing both women and men are treated with respect, dignity and paid fair wages for the fruits of their labour. It took more than 18 months to find the artisan families and small businesses Soleil DÓr Collective collaborates with today. It is so important to build lifelong relationships with my manufacturing partners and support the families with a mutually beneficial working relationship for everybody involved.

I want to ensure everyone we work with is safe, healthy, happy and living in abundance. I regularly ask how my artisans and their families are going and if they well. It makes me happy to have such incredible talented people in my life on a personal and professional level. I can’t wait to travel to Bali again to see them.

Each piece is handmade from start to finish and can take months to complete and can only be described as a fine art. The initial concept designs are forwarded by email to Mr. Tutus (the incredible master designer and jeweller) they communicate back and forth via Whatsapp speaking of his recommendations, possible improvements and new ideas for pieces that may compliment the collection prior to approving the final designs on paper.

I source stunning natural gemstones such as Emeralds, Citrine, Sapphires, Garnet, Ruby’s, Topaz, Amethyst and many other stones from many suppliers all over the world. The process of cutting the raw stones takes up-to 4 weeks and another 3-4 to post to Bali. 100% recycled sterling silver chains are also ordered from local sustainable suppliers and take up-to 4 weeks to reach the artisans creators.

This is when the magic happens. The artisans intricately carve wax in preparation for the poring of the sterling silver followed by 2.5 micron 18k gold vermeil curating my vision into reality. It often feels like a dream becoming real life as if the artisans can read my mind. To be able to articulate the love, passion, emotion, and authenticity into every masterpiece is truly mesmerising and a dream come true every time.

The future owner will be holding onto a timeless heirloom made from pure souls with love and intention forever. A true testament of the connectivity between all of us, mindfully and consciously created for you, handmade by masters of their trade.
